My President is Miriam Defensor-Santiago
WARNING: This write-up will be all about my reasons for choosing MDS, comparisons with her fellow presidential candidates and criticisms about her rivals. If your intention for reading this is to shut me up, convince me to vote for your choice of candidate or to start an uprising against my words, create your own page and write it there. I am writing this to tell you that Miriam Defensor-Santiago will give the Philippines the presidency that it needs in the next six years.
WHY MIRIAM?
BECAUSE THE APPLAUDABLE TRAITS OF YOUR PRESIDENTIAL BETS ARE IN HER, TOO - ON HIGHER DOSES, TO BE FAIR!
You're saying that all you want is a tough-talking, action driven president? Sorry to burst your bubble, but Miriam had done more than enough of what you want: inside the Senate and other government offices, against her colleagues who weren't doing their jobs. She did it on and off national television and not in the name of self-gratification, nor for the sake of being elected president. There's a big difference between doing things out of duty and doing it for timely praise.
LET'S TALK ABOUT LOVE FOR THE COUNTRY AND ITS PEOPLE.
For most people, love is spelled as T.I.M.E. Let's set things straight. Senator Miriam has maximized every bit of her time in ALL the public service positions she held (check her track record, I don't need to put them all here.) Isn't that enough proof of how much she loves the Philippines? She never wasted the people's money spent for her salary. She delivered what is expected from her - with flying colors. When she declared her candidacy, there was never a time that she hinted on backing out. That's because, being the respected person that she is, she would not run for office if she knows that she cannot fulfill her duties well. It's time to reciprocate that L-O-V-E.
SHE UNDERSTANDS THE VALUE OF THE UNTAPPED RESOURCES OF THE PHILIPPINES - THE YOUTH!
Why does she always top the mock polls in colleges and universities? Do I need to answer this? Do I seriously need to answer this? Miriam is a firm believer of the youth's potential to better the Philippines. I grew up admiring a lot of good leaders around me and I desire the same environment for the next generation of young Filipinos. If you really want to set a good example to the youth, inspire them to be wise and to become fruit-bearing citizens. We are not here just to exist. We are here to be the change.

It is undeniable that the VP race appears to be the tougher choice that we have to make. As each of the presidential candidates have different reasons to possibly not complete his/her term**, we need to make sure that the VP will be as reliable as the President. But let's set aside the choice of VP on a different thread. Whoever wins the VP race will have to adhere to the President's mandate. With a Miriam presidency, we can be sure that the Vice President will be obliged to perform his/her duties accordingly.
SHE SPEAKS ABOUT ABIDING BY THE LAWS OF THE LAND AT ALL TIMES

I trust Senator Miriam's words because she has been consistent from the time I have been aware of her political prowess (that's during my high school days) up to now that I have the opportunity to lift her to the presidency. I am voting for a president who will encourage me to follow the Constitution, and not forsake it.

THE ONLY REASON WHY MOST OF YOU WON'T VOTE FOR HER IS HER HEALTH
Only God knows! Everyone, whether healthy or not, has an equal chance of dying within six years. Yes, you and I are not exempted. Oh, come on! So please, if your only reason for not voting for Miriam's is cancer, forget your qualms. We are not in the Stone Age anymore! She is now a survivor, for goodness' sake! #technologyplease
EVEN WITHOUT HER MULTIPLE-PAGED RESUME, HER MORAL VALUES WILL SHINE AND STAND STILL
We can go all day enumerating her achievements in every aspect of life, but what really separates Miriam Defensor-Santiago from her fellow presidentiables? Strip her of all the contents of her resume and keep her moral values. The Philippines is in dire need of a moral revolution. You can only achieve that with a president who encourages people to change from within. Do not be blinded by an illusion of change that is promised by a single power - that is practically unattainable, or maybe attainable but at a high cost. I am voting for Miriam because she commends every excellent work done - in little or magnanimous volumes. I would like to imagine telling her my little achievements and getting a pat on my shoulder for a job well done. Okay, I must stop from here or I'll be dreamy.

MIRIAM DOESN'T JOIN THE UGLY MUDSLINGING OF HER FELLOW CANDIDATES
Pwe! That is for my utter disgust for the Presidential debate held last March 20. It happens not only on stage but in every chance that the four presidentiables could get. I do not want to witness any more of their dirty tactics. I want a leader who doesn't need to step on another's weaknesses to rise above him/her.
WHY NOT DUTERTE, ROXAS, POE OR BINAY?
Why not Roxas? I respect him for the person that he is. I used to admire him for being an action-guy in the past. I even want to ask him, where is the Mr. Palengke that the people loved? All I hear about him now are the faulty decisions he made in times of crisis. He would have done better.
Why not Poe? Because Madame Grace Llamanzares, I also once dreamed of being President of the Philippines. We both have noble desires but I do not want to give mediocre service to the Philippines. If I were born to be a President, I believe, God would have planted me somewhere in the political realm right now to start the maturation process. It is a disservice to the country to offer unripe leadership.
Why not Binay? (I am honestly stopping myself from condemning him so let's just skip this part)

We have less than a month to affirm or revise our choice of President. Make the necessary change if at, one point, while reading this, your soul told you that you should reconsider your choice. If you are still undecided, it's time to make up your mind.
People are often hurt because after being warned by the "experienced" that this is the better choice, they still dive into the untested and choose to have a first-hand feel of the pain coming from a hazy decision. I am urging you to vote for Miriam because within or after six years, I don't want to hear regrets from millions who let a great leader go. To set this on fire, let me say it in my native language: KAPAG ANG PRESIDENTE N'YO HINDI KAYO NAPAGSILBIHAN KATULAD NG NAIPANGAKO N'YA, WAG NA WAG KAYONG AANGAL AT MAGREREKLAMO SA SOCIAL MEDIA O SA PERSONAL MAN. OO, KARAPATAN NYONG MAGREKLAMO DAHIL BUMOTO KAYO. PERO AKO ANG UNANG MAGSASABI SAYO NA - GINUSTO MO 'YAN 'DI BA?!
Sawang-sawa na ako sa Pilipinas na walang paninindigan at kusa. Kung gusto mo ng tunay na pagbabago, tumawid ka sa pedestrian lane, pulutin mo ang basura kahit hindi ikaw ang nagkalat, at higit sa lahat tumindig ka at huminto sa anumang ginagawa mo kapag narinig mong tumutugtog ang Lupang Hinirang!
